It's sometimes difficult getting your insurance to pay for a new medication needed for a new ailment or disease.  With many insurance companies there is criteria that has to be met before  approving a medication.  Some pit stops to getting approval range from, is the medication really needed for your particular disease to have you had this disease longer than 3 or more months, or sometimes its just a waiting period.  Each policy criteria may be different.  We really appreciate these companies and resources that help pay for medication while we work out all the kinks with the insurance company.  You many even ask your doctor if they have any resources for you while you get your medication approved.
